We lived in Tehran in the 70s and Deryk was a larger than life figure! He hosted amazing parties! We as hildren went to his wonderful house and swam in the pool, which i seem to remember was a strange shape. But best memories are of going there at Christmas and seeing father Christmas, who was definitely Deryck! I think it was deryck who showed us how to make false teeth out of oranges although it could have been someone else... memories and all that!
